Online Desk Ergonomics & Workstation Assessment

What is it?

Our online workstation assessment service provides an ergonomic workstation assessment from the comfort of your own home or office, via a Zoom video call.

A specialist ergonomics physiotherapist will assess all aspects of your work environment, from desk sitting posture and computer/laptop ergonomics, to your working patterns and exercise.

Who is it for?

This office desk ergonomic assessment service is helpful for anyone working from home, or office-based, who suffers with any musculoskeletal complaint (such as back pain) that is exacerbated by desk work.

It is also useful as a preventative measure to ensure your office ergonomics are optimal.

There may have been a change to your working pattern, such that you work from home more often or more intensively. Or perhaps you are pregnant (congrats!) and need to ensure your computer desk workstation set-up is complimenting your changing shape.

We also offer a face-to-face workstation assessment service in the workplace or home.

What Conditions Can A Workstation Assessment Benefit?

Common desk-related musculoskeletal complaints that benefit from an ergonomic workstation assessment include:

  • Neck pain
  • Upper-back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Lower-back pain
  • Sciatica

  • Wrist pain
  • Hand pain
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Upper-limb nerve pain

What to Expect With Your Computer Workstation Assessment

  • The appointment will last up to 45 minutes.
  • Your physiotherapist will first discuss the reasons behind your ergonomic workstation assessment, establish your working pattern and the type of work you are undertaking in your office or home office.
  • They will then observe your working posture, check and ask you to adjust the positioning of your equipment where appropriate, to ensure correct sitting posture at your desk.
  • They will also make recommendations on any further pieces of equipment / ergonomic products they think will be beneficial to you and your problem.
  • Full report and recommendations available upon request for a small fee.

Preparing For Your Online Workstation Assessment

  • Ensure the device you are using for the video call with your Physiotherapist is different to the device you use for work.
  • Ensure there is enough space to set your camera up sideways-on to your workstation, so your Physiotherapist can get a top-toe view of your working posture.
