A strengthening exercise which is beneficial for the calf, Achilles or ankle.

To perform this exercise, stand on the bottom step of your stairs. Place your feet so that the balls of your feet are on the step, with your heels off the step. Balance by lightly holding onto the banister.

Now push up onto the balls of your feet.

Try to ensure that your body travels vertically, rather than allow yourself rock forward.

Slowly drop down so that your heels are lower than the step.
