Jordyn Groves: Specialist Hands Therapist
You can find Jordyn at our Chelsea Hand Clinic.
I love hand therapy! You can immediately see the difference you are making with a direct impact on a person’s recovery and return to life prior to injury
Summary:
Jordyn was exposed to hand therapy during her community service year and instantly found her place in the OT world. Working in top government and private hospitals within South Africa, she was exposed to a vast range of injuries and conditions, from extensive multi-trauma crush injuries to complex rheumatoid arthritis and burns. Within the UK, Jordyn has worked in a few hand therapy departments as a locum therapist; reducing waiting lists and assisting with more complex cases to allow other therapists to complete project development and junior staff supervision.
Specialisation:
Jordyn specialises in the assessment and treatment of wrist and hand diagnoses, ranging from chronic conditions to sports injuries and complex trauma. She is comfortable with treating and has experience with finger, wrist and forearm fractures; tendon and nerve injuries, repairs and transfers; ligament injuries; chronic pain; tendinopathy; elective surgery post-operative care; chronic conditions; and sports injuries. Jordyn has a special interest in chronic pain.
Education:
Jordyn obtained her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Stellenbosch University in 2016.
She then completed her MSc in Occupational Therapy through the EuroMaster programme, registered jointly at Amsterdam and Zurich University of Applied Sciences in 2022.
Other interests:
Jordyn is a keen sports lover, both to play and to watch. She enjoys exploring and travelling as much as possible; she is always happiest by the sea.
