Christy is an extremely experienced hand therapist. Christy has worked in both the private and public healthcare systems in both the UK and Australia. Christy is well-linked with therapists and surgeons around the country and will always aim for the best outcome for her patients
Specialisation:
Christy specialises in assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of hand and wrist injuries. She has extensive post-graduate training and is continually learning and seeking new knowledge to further expand her knowledge. She has extensive experience treating paediatric, including congenital hand injuries. Christy has a special interest in wrist injuries and trauma.
Other Experience:
Christy was a member of the British Association of Hand Therapist executive committee for 7 years. During that time, she held the position of chair. Christy is currently the therapy representative on the BSSH Instructional course committee
Education:
Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Masters in Advancing Practice at the University of Ulster, Belfast.
Masters module in injection therapy at the University of Essex, 2021.
Regularly attend other courses.
Sport:
Ouside of work Christy has played many sports, but her favorite was outrigger canoeing. She currently enjoys Bikram Yoga, swimming, cycling and inferno pilates.
