It is widely established that exercise during pregnancy brings with it many health benefits. It can help to improve energy levels, reduce stress and anxiety.
Pilates during pregnancy is an excellent way of exercising to improve your posture, to strengthen your deep abdominals, pelvic floor, back and arm muscles, as well as relaxing. Our antenatal Pilates classes are specifically designed for pregnant mums, helping them to better cope with their changing shape and the physical demands of pregnancy and labour.
Antenatal Pilates focuses on your core strength, thereby helping to prevent incontinence and prolapses. Regular Pilates during pregnancy will help you return to your pre preganncy physique once your baby has been born.
It is vital to ensure that any exercise that you take part in during pregnancy is safe. Here at Central Health Physiotherapy all our antenatal Pilates classes are taken by our specialist Chartered Women’s Health Physiotherapist so you can rest assured you are in the best of hands.

“Claire, the class teacher, was excellent and tailored the exercises to suit the women attending. The class sizes were small, so that we received individual attention. I thought that Claire’s specific expertise in women’s health physiotherapy really shone through. Aside from the physical benefits, I also thoroughly enjoyed the sessions – it was one of the highlights of my week! I felt both relaxed and invigorated after each antenatal Pilates session.” Alexy
“A big thank you to the Women’s Health Physiotherapy team at Chancery Lane, especially Claire. I’ve been having ante-natal Pilates classes with her for several weeks now and they’re great. It’s the first time I’d tried Pilates and Claire’s enthusiasm, expert knowledge, individual attention and professionalism (not to mention patience with me and my growing bump!) are excellent. It’s perfect “time out” on a Tuesday evening and I leave every class feeling relaxed & energised…I’m looking forward to continuing postnatally!” Abi
