Physiotherapy in the Workplace
A leading law firm reported a drop of 80% in the incidence of work related musculoskeletal disorders one year after the introduction of an in-house physiotherapy service.
There is significant evidence to show that an on-site physiotherapy service reduces the time off work and sickness problems within companies. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) account for 60% of sickness at work; additionally the interaction between musculoskeletal conditions and stress is considerable. Our physiotherapists are skilled in treatment and equally in prevention. Treatment is not finished until a prevention strategy has been implemented.
Injuries occur both in and away from the workplace but, either way, the longer someone is off work; the more likely it is that they will not return. Central Health would anticipates that a physiotherapist that works within a company can have a direct and indirect effect on reducing absenteeism; whether it is through treatment, education or advising on phased return to work programmes.
In the same way that every individual is different, so is every company. At Central health we are committed to working with companies to find the solution to meet their particular requirements. We have the ability to provide physiotherapy at our clinics in Chancery Lane and St John's Wood or we can structure an "in-house" service at your premises.
