Physiotherapists
All of the physiotherapists at Central Health are members of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with The Health Professions Council. With approximately 40 staff, Central Health has a substantial base of experience and encourages the exchange of knowledge and ideas. Physiotherapists are available to ensure service cover 52 weeks of the year.
The Occupational Therapists are all state registered and members of The Health Professions Council.
Martin van Heerden BphysT MCSP
Central Health since March 2007;
manages the Springdene Clinic in Whetstone and works with the team at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth
Specialisation
Orthopaedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal out patients including foot, ankle, shoulder and spine, hydrotherapy, positional vertigo, vestibular rehabilitation
Other experience
Spent one year running the physiotherapy department in a small mining town, somewhere in deepest darkest Southern Africa
Started and managed a successful private physiotherapy practice before relocating to the U.K.
Worked at the Comrades Marathon and South African Gladiators

Other
Martin was a figure skater who competed at national level. The skates have been hung up and he now enjoys the occasional run when not busy with D.I.Y. or gardening
